Baking Soda and Washing Soda

Vinegar

Borax (also near the laundry section)

Mild Dish Detergent (Dawn)

Ammonia

Essential Oil in Your Favorite Scents

Floor Cleaner:

1 cup white vinegar
1 gallon warm water

Mix in your cleaning bucket and use this to clean most floors.




All-Purpose Cleaner
This cleaner you make right in your spray bottle

2T vinegar
1 t Borax
Hot water
A few drops of a mild dish detergent
10 drops of essential oil, optional

In a 16 spray bottle put vinegar, borax and hot water. Swish around until borax has dissolved. Add the drops of dish detergent and fill the rest of the bottle with water. Add the essential oil.



All Purpose Cleaner in a Bucket (for big jobs like walls)

1/2 cup ammonia
1/4 cup vinegar
1/4 cup baking soda

Mix the above ingredients with 1 gallon of warm water and use for basic cleaning jobs around the home. Double the above ingredients for cleaning shower walls or other extra heavy duty areas.



Soft Scrubbing Type Cleaners

There are no measurements necessary for this one. Simply put a small amount of baking soda in a bowl and add liquid dish detergent until you have smooth paste or frosting like substance. This very well on sinks and counters and won’t scratch the surface.



Homemade Window Cleaner

This one can be made right in your spray bottle.

1/2 t mild dish detergent
3T vinegar
2 cups water

Put all these ingredients into a spray bottle. Shake this up some and use it just like the commercial variety.


Wood Polish:

1/4 c. vinegar
1/2 c. olive oil

Mix Together and rub on lightly with a soft towel.
Please note, use sparingly as to not damage fine wood surfaces, you might try a test spot first.

Sink Drain Cleaner

Pour 1 c. of baking soda into drain and then add 1 c. of vinegar.
Mixture will foam and work on clog, let sit for a while before rinsing with warm water.
If sink is still clogged repeat.
Also, to keep your kitchen sink smelling fresh..toss a lemon or orange peel down the disposal whenever you think about it.

Homemade Laundry Soap

1/3 bar Fels Naptha or other type of soap( you can use normal people soap like dove but use a whole bar)

1/2 cup washing soda
1/2 cup borax powder
1 - 2 gallon bucket
1/2 oz of essential oil (optional)

Grate the soap into a sauce pan. Add 6 cups water and heat until the soap melts. Add the washing soda and the borax and stir until it is dissolved. Remove from heat. Add 4 cups hot water and essential oil to the bucket. Now add your soap mixture. Stir. Now add 1 gallon plus 6 cups of water and stir. Let the soap sit for about 24 hours and it will gel into something along the lines of egg white. You use 1/2 cup per load.
